Is quite unique because the skin care products are all so great, most of

them organic, and because they contain Soul Light.

As we are well aware from science, water is a life source and

we comprise of 70% water. We also know that water’s molecules

react positively to what is "applied", both in the form of music, prayer,

meditation, blessing, words, thoughts, attractive surroundings,

and what it “perceives”.

Water’s molecules quite simply undergo change.

They become better-formed, purer, clearer, more complete

and assume a vitalising motion.

Organic skin care from Soul Beauty contains Soul Light. Soul Light is demineralised water which has

been standing in a pretty bowl, positioned in a pretty room where classical music

has been gently played, and where beautiful thoughts have been thought about

beauty in general, pleasure, happiness, health, youthfulness and welfare generally in life. Rather nice

Soul Light is in all Soul Beauty’s skin care products, and they are produced in a light-hearted and joyful atmosphere with good background music.

Just as water is enriched by positive and clear values, the same can be said of the effect that our daily surroundings have on us.

A number of books have emerged on the market which describe water’s normal appearance, and how lovely, clear and clean it becomes when placed in a room with an atmosphere of good and positive thoughts and words, choice music, nice prayers, blessings and enriching meditation.

Organic skin care for body and soul

There should be a balance between beauty and nature. So our skin care products address those who believe that health and beauty stem from respect for and love of nature on a global basis, and our immediate environment. We at Soul Beauty believe that beauty can be defined, among other things, as a balance between us as human beings and our planet. We believe that beauty promotes beauty. Our skin care products are biodegradable, organic where possible. Our packaging is environmentally correct, and all plastic packaging is 100% degradable and phthalate free.

We know that vitamins, minerals, trace elements, fibre and secondary plant extracts increase our beauty. They ensure a clean skin, strong tissue fibre, shiny hair, a sunny attitude to life and masses of energy. In Soul Beauty we use this knowledge actively in developing organic skin care.

And of course water is not to be forgotten as an important source of beauty, with around 2 litres recommended daily.

Water has the function of strengthening and replenishing cells and tissue fibre so that the necessary elasticity and firmness are maintained.

Water transports important nutrients to the cells and carries toxic materials away from them. But a healthy attitude to organic ingredients doesn’t need to stop at what we consume: we ought to be just as interested in what we put onto our body as in what we put into it.

All our skin care products are handmade of course, and there is therefore a 7-10 day delivery time on them. (Please see the section on Conditions). Preservatives

Parabens have in recent years attained a particularly bad reputation for adversely affecting the oestrogen balance (by this we mean especially butyl paraben). Although it is possible to preserve with parabens that do not contain butyl- or isobutyl paraben, we have chosen to omit the use of parabens. We use instead a natural preservative produced from benzoic acid salt. This is found as a natural product in cranberries and benzoic resin. It is less broad-spectrum than parabens, but we have taken this decision so there is not the slightest doubt on the part of you the consumer, and so we can deliver the desired shelf-life.

Products that do not contain preservatives have a shelf-life of 3-6 months.

Our skin care has a shelf-life of 1-2 years, though we don’t suppose that your cream will stand open for that length of time.

Skin care products that do not contain water do not need preserving, so our oils do not contain preservatives other than natural Vitamin E which, apart from being particularly beneficial and a powerful antioxidant, also impedes decay.

Surfactants and Emulsifying Agents

All our surfactants are approved by the Society for the Protection of Nature and derive from coconut and palm kernel oil and other vegetable fats or ingredients. Our shampoos are SLS-free. SLS ( Sodium Lauryl Sulfate are synthetic and produced from petroleum. Causes skin irritation, severe inflammation, allergic reactions, cancer, hair loss and hormonal imbalance.

Emulsifying agents (which enable water and oils to be blended) are derived from natural sources such as vegetable oils and other ingredients, most of which have a foodstuffs quality i.e. they can be eaten.

Typically employed are V-E fat (derived from coconut oil), M-F fat (from VE fat and lactic acid), and Turkish red oil (lathered castor oil), vegetal, and emulsifier L.

Herbs and Extracts

Herbs that are used in our skin care products are carefully harvested and dried to preserve

the active ingredients as best as possible. The majority of them

come from the Provence region of

France

, organically grown,

or from controlled areas for wild harvest.

All our products are handmade, and made with joy :-)

Nitrosamines

Nitrosamines are carcinogenic and are formed particularly when certain

substances are combined: For example, when triethanolamine and certain

nitrifying preservatives combine simultaneously in one product.

A random sample in 2004 indicated that 20% of cosmetic products in the eyeliner and mascara industry contained nitrosamines.

Vitamins

Most vitamins serve two purposes. Firstly they function as antioxidants, i.e. they impede the decay of fat and oil in skin care products. Secondly they also have a beneficial effect on the skin, and we believe that a number of vitamins can be absorbed through the skin so as to be active in our body. This is also the case for fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D and E. Vitamin C is perhaps not absorbed in the body but is active in the outer layer of the skin and thereby functions very effectively in tightening up the skin.

Essential Oils and Fragrance Oils

Essential oils have a long tradition in herbal medicine, perfumes, skin care products, food and aromatherapy. Many manufacturers have unfortunately adapted to market demand where price and fragrance play a major role. This has meant that many of the oils sold are cheap and manipulated oils which have been combined with synthetic chemical aromas with the sole purpose of providing a very long-lasting taste and fragrance. However their therapeutic effect is diminished.

An example of this is lemon balm, one of the most expensive oils to produce. Several companies sell this for 30kr. per 10ml, and it is often 100% synthetic. If you are lucky, it could be a mix of lemongrass and litsea cubeba, both of which are nice oils but which have very different therapeutic effects from Lemon Balm.

We have complete confidence in our suppliers’ purchase and control of the genuineness of their essential oils. Essential oils are extremely concentrated and small drops can have a huge effect and should therefore be treated with respect.

To be on the safe side, pregnant women are not advised to use essential oils if they do not know enough about them.

The essential oils in our selection conform entirely to those oils generally tolerated by pregnant women and children.

Our fragrance oils are a combination of various natural substances such as: Essential oils, single components from essential oils plus plant . Non of our skin care products contain synthetic fragrances.

Allergic reactions can however be caused by both natural and synthetic substances. We can therefore not fully guarantee that there will be no allergic reaction.

If you are in any doubt then test a small area of the under-arm with a few drops of the oil or the product, and wait 24 hours for the result.

The good news is that a number of the aromatic mixes (from genuine essential oils) are now available in an organic quality as controlled by EcoCert. We are of course delighted by this. Aswell as many of our fragrances/perfumes, which are organic and developed in Grasse, France, and certified by Ecocert.

Organic Hydrolates

In many of our skin care products, containing water, we use hydrolates, where possible of an organic quality. In other words, demineralised water is replaced by for example organic orange blossom water, organic rose water,organic lavender and organic camomile water.

Hydrolates are a bi-product of the production of essential oils, whereby the remaining product is a herbal water which contains a small amount of essential oil and other water-soluble extracts from plants. Hydrolates are wonderfully mild when used in facial tonics, aromatic bath products or in baby skin care products.

Vegetable Oils

Skin care products from Soul Beauty always contain the best vegetable oils from for example

Germany

France

and

Kenya

. They contain vital essential fatty

acids for the construction of the body’s cells, and they

are 99% bio-degradable in contrast to mineral oils which

are only 25-40% bio-degradable, and which are damaging

to the environment and pollute the soil.

Vegetable oils provide the skin with a natural protection and contain

many different vitamins, in contrast to mineral oils (vaseline and paraffin)

which do not contain vitamins and form a layer on the surface of the skin,

blocking the pores and preventing the skin from absorbing fat-soluble vitamins.

Vegetable oils stimulate the skin so that you are better able to absorb nutrients, your circulation is improved and your skin is more moisture-retentive.

Cosmetic Pigments

We use only the best and purest quality of nature identical cosmetic pigments, and you can therefore use them on your eyelids, around and on the lips, and close to mucous membranes without worrying. In our opinion, natural and organic skin care products will always exceed the quality of synthetic alternatives.

We can therefore vouch 100% for our products. Our skin care products are bio-degradable, the majority of them are organic, and our packaging can be recycled.

Unfortunately, there are no crystal clear criteria for environmental declarations in Denmark. Cosmetic products that contain no natural ingredients, and which additionally contain synthetic colourings and fragrances, can nevertheless be awarded an environmental label. Similarly, products which contain a mineral oil basis can achieve an environmental label. On the other hand, a company without this environmental label can in practice be far more environmentally aware, and may even need to reduce some of its demands if it was to receive or wished to use an awarded environmental label. Equally, criteria vary from country to country, so use your good common sense when you purchase. Unfortunately there are in Denmark no criteria in eco-labeling either. There are no clear rules, so a product that is only 10% organic can in fact be labelled "organic". We know that a beauty product containing water, can never be 100% organic, because water itself is not. Very few of Soul Beauty's skin care products are 45-50% organic, otherwise the vast majority of our products are 70-99% organic, which is a high percentage :-) We hope that in future there will be less ambiguous criteria for quality in raw ingredients, additives, processes, environmental damage and ethics.

Most plant ingredients can be produced synthetically today, and this largely contributes to an ecological imbalance. More and more people suffer from allergies and eczema, and a number of these cases can be attributed to additives in food, medicine and cosmetics. The only thing one can do is to closely examine the list of ingredients and buy products which have a clear and understandable content, or make them oneself.

Our choice of ingredients is not only for our own sake, but for yours as well.

When we declare a product as containing real camomile oil, we mean that the amount contained is sufficient for it to have a beneficial effect and not just 1 drop per 20kg of cream. Equally all our products are hand-made and there can be minor differences in colour nuance.

So we welcome all of you who are environment-conscious and demand that skin care products only contain natural ingredients to Soul Beauty’s universe, and we hope that you will find our products exciting, effective and inviting.

Our Origin becomes Our Future

We are creations in God’s own wonderful, powerful and pretty picture.

So we are all of us lovely.

We are also, from our creation onwards, coloured by a natural balance and harmony with the world around us. We humans have, as far back in history as we can see, always had a close relationship to nature. We have the knowledge about nature and we have been able to use all its gifts, and they have been there for the taking if only we look after nature. We are now so lucky to live in an age where all the good, natural and healthy things are in again.

So we can say that our origin, both in spiritual, mental and personal terms, can once again become the foundation and future of our values and opinions.
